Life can get hectic, and between work, responsibilities, and personal goals, to go on dates might feel like just another task on your to-do list. But finding a meaningful relationship doesn’t have to be overwhelming. It’s all about balance—making small but intentional efforts to meet new people, staying open to opportunities, and prioritizing what truly matters. Even with a packed schedule, you can create space for dating without feeling stressed.
“I work extremely hard; I only sleep for 5 hours at night,” says Liam, “I don’t have time for dating and relationships, but I think I’m missing out on opportunities to build a love life. What should I do?”
Liam has asked a valid question. This is the reality for a lot of men who are growth-driven and ambitious – they work hard to build successful careers; they run very promising businesses; they are amazingly productive. But here is the catch: Your best years for building a satisfying love life can be gone quickly because you aren’t getting any younger. Time has wings.
When you go on dates, there is a theme for them at every stage of life.
Your approach to dating changes as you move through different phases of life. In your early years, it might be about fun and exploration, while later on, you may seek deeper connections and shared goals. Understanding the stage you’re in helps you date with clarity and confidence, making each experience more meaningful.
When I was a young student, I studied really hard, so eventually, I went to a well-known university and studied the course that I loved, which became the foundation of my career.
After graduation, I found a good job that gave me an enjoyable lifestyle, so I prioritized my lifestyle, dating, and relationships in my 20s.
In my 30s, I started my own business and worked so hard for a decade. I built a viable business that has been automated in many ways.
Now I’m in my 40s. Actually, I’m semi-retired currently and I’m enjoying life fully. I write blog articles for various websites, spend quality time with my family, travel the world with my friends, and read lots of books these days.

What’s the theme of your current stage?
Right now, what matters most to you when you go on dates? Are you looking for excitement, companionship, or a serious commitment? Identifying the theme of your current stage helps you approach dating with purpose and attract the right kind of connection.
Liam is in his early 40s. In fact, he worked incredibly hard all his life because he has been an entrepreneur for almost 30 years! (Yes, he started his first business when he was a teenager.)
Frankly, Liam doesn’t really have to work that hard at this stage in his life right now because he has already built impressive wealth, a mature business and a high-value social circle. What he really needs now is to find a good relationship that will make him happy and satisfied.
Therefore, my advice for Liam is to sleep for at least 7 hours at night. Stress less. Delegate tasks that can be done by his contractors and/or employees. Eliminate unnecessary tasks. Give himself a lot of time to relax and smell the roses. Join a dating website. Read a helpful book about dating and relationships. He has worked hard for decades, so he deserves more self-love.
