Nowadays online dating is so mainstream because almost all single people who are looking for love have joined internet dating sites. Is offline dating still relevant in this day and age?
- Online dating and offline dating are not mutually exclusive.
Frankly, if you are looking for a high-quality relationship and you’ve joined a dating site, you can still utilize offline dating as an add-on because you should maximize your opportunities.
Indeed, when you only have one option, you are more likely to make a lousy decision due to scarcity. In contrast, when you have many options, you can make an informed decision and choose the best candidate for a serious relationship.
I would argue that internet dating definitely gives you the ultimate fast-track to a relationship as everything is streamlined online. Meanwhile, offline dating helps you to hone your social skills. For example, when you decide to go out at least once a week, you would dress up, work on your fashion/grooming and practice your conversation skills. These are also important when you meet the person that you’ve been chatting with online in real life.
If you are going to a party this weekend, please stay until the end of the party because let’s say you meet someone that you are attracted to at the party, you want to be the guy that she remembers (if you leave early, she probably won’t remember you as she might meet someone else later on) – this is called the recency effect.
That means you should plan on leaving late. If you think the party will end at 9pm, you would be well-advised to plan to leave at 10pm.

- Dating VS Socializing
Honestly, there is a fundamental difference between dating and socializing because these are two concepts. Yet sometimes these two things can overlap. Let me explain.
Jack goes to a party and meets a woman that he likes. But that woman attends the party with a group of her friends. Jack treats this woman and the group as two different entities because he is a very smart guy. He makes the group feel that he is a cool, safe and fun guy, whereas he makes this woman feel that he is flirty, high-value and spontaneous. That’s why her friends didn’t stop her from interacting with Jack.
Fortunately, when you join an online dating site, you don’t need to worry about interacting with a group. Clearly, internet dating is more direct and simpler. 😊
