In such an atmosphere people often forget that chemistry isn’t the major fact for creating long term relations, especially when one of you has children. Likewise, men and ladies may have one or more children of different ages. However, adult children usually may have their own families and live separately. They may also study at the university, living in the same or another city. Certainly, teenagers usually still study at school and need the help of their parents. Hence, little children stay with their mothers. Children of any age want happiness for their parents. But it is better to find a common language with them. Due to some cases, they may play a great role in their mother’s decision to build relations with the man or not. Certainly, at the first meeting, you and your lady may stay together. Therefore, if you like each other, and she has one or more children she will need to introduce you to her kids. Consequently, some men may think if their mother loves him it isn’t important to make friends with her children, as they need just to take the situation as fact and understand their mother. However, sometimes such a plan doesn’t work.

Children of any age have their opinion and try to share it with their mother. As for ladies, they take care of their kids and are ready to make everything for them to feel comfortable and safe. Children are always the main treasure for mothers. Certainly, their opinion and impression of you may be decisive in the lady’s choice. Therefore, if you want to impress such a lady, you need to impress her children, too. However, if you make friends with kids, you will have a “team-mate”, who may help you to win the heart of your lady.
Consequently, don’t be afraid when the lady wants to introduce you to her children. That sign means that she trusts you so much that wants to show you her main treasure. Certainly, she just needs to be sure that you may live all together in harmony and joy. That will be the proof you can create a strong and happy family. Based on my experience with several friends that have married Slavic women, it can be difficult to marry with children when they are teenagers, especially boys! I made my own conclusion after meeting 14 couples where the wife was from either Russian, Ukraine or Belarus. Slavic women are very protective of their sons because this is handed down through the generations after WW II. So many men were killed and lost to this horrific war. In fact, a study was conducted by a Ukrainian psychologist after she interviewed 200 mothers from the regions of Belarus, Ukraine and Russia. These women appeared to treat their sons a bit different than their daughters. Why? There were more women after the war and not enough men. So when a boy was born, he was treated like a prince. That belief was carried on through the next two generations and still exists today, however, not a prevalent. Of the 14 couples I mentioned, 3 of them divorced their American husbands. Why? The problem appeared to be that the young teenager did not have a male in his life back in his home country. Now, he has a male presence, discipline and structure in his life. Yet, these wives chose to side with their sons when they had disciplinary issues. All three Slavic boys also had problems with the law enforcement authorities, subsequent time in court and jail. They were adults, 19, 22, and 24 when these tragedies occurred. They all came to the US when they were around 14-16 years of age. It appears that if a Western man would marry a Slavic woman, he should consider a much younger age. I am only talking about a small group of 14 couples, but approximately 30% of these couples ended in divorce and the only common denominator was they had young teenage boys. It is sad, but these are facts I developed based on my observation and discussion with the wives separately from the husbands over a period of four years. The other information about the study was given to me by my good friend, Oksana, that lived in Ukraine. Oksana married an Italian American man and also had a son, but he did not want to live with her. When he was 16 and chose to return to Ukraine since he did not want to adapt to his new life in the US. Since then (6 years later) Oksana talks to her son weekly and he lives in Kiev. It was better for her to send her son back to Ukraine because he was destroying her life and sadly her marriage. She and her husband have traveled to Ukraine to see her son. Sorry, but we need to understand that our children will not always be in our lives and will want to have their adult lives one day.
