Apparently, you shouldn’t focus on your past while chatting with the Ukrainian lady on the first date. However, talking about your past is inevitable on the date because you are here to introduce yourself to her. She needs to know your background and your story.
Facts about you all come from your past, so you’d better know how to talk about your past correctly!
Here is the fundamental principle: You must make your past an asset rather than baggage!
Please let me explain this principle by showing you two ways to talk about the past.
Negative spin: “My love life was absolutely miserable previously.” (This is the wrong way.)
Positive spin: “I’ve learned so much from my dating life because those experiences have taught me a lot about what to value as well as what not to value.” (This is the right way.)
Even if you have to mention the previous relationships that made you feel hurt on the first date, please remember to talk about how those relationships were useful to you, i.e., you have learned very valuable lessons!
What’s more, the same goes for your career. The basic principle is not to talk about the career/job that you can’t stand. Instead, talk about what you are working towards right now or what your career/job allows you to do/will probably allow you to do something that you truly love. There are many ways to keep her interested. For instance, you can call her and after the phone call, you send her a text message. Here are some good examples:
“You have the most attractive voice.”
“It was lovely hearing your very pleasant voice.”
Because these text messages are positive reinforcement, I’m sure this Ukrainian woman will want to chat with you even more.
How to get her to live up to your standards:
If there are certain behaviours that you would like to encourage more in your Ukrainian lady, the best way to do this is through the Pre-Framing Technique. Talk about what you like and what you don’t like in other people.
For example, you can talk about a friend’s situation, “My friend Tony is having a hard time now because his girlfriend doesn’t want to move to his city, although she is currently a university student. Why do people do that? I can’t understand why he would stay in something if it doesn’t even have a future.”
Another example is to tell her traits that you find attractive, “As I see it, the most attractive trait in a woman is kindness. When I see somebody do a kind thing for someone else, it means so much to me.”
If you have been dating this Ukrainian woman for some time already, you can refer to a moment in the past when she did something that you liked. “The way you genuinely connected with my family made me fall for you even more.”
Alternatively, you can talk about characters in novels or movies who do something that you like. “I find that such an attractive trait in a woman like that.”
Also, you can talk about unique qualities about her. “The way you do that for me makes me feel close to you in a tremendous way.”
Lastly, you can tell her directly, “I love when women give their full attention without distraction from the phone.” / “I love when you give your full attention without distraction from your phone.” (The first statement is used when you and this lady aren’t in an official relationship yet; the second statement can be said when you and this Ukrainian woman have already started a romantic relationship.)
“An effective way to clarify your standards is to talk about why you refuse other women, ‘I wouldn’t date someone who never makes time for family and friends.’”
