My Faith Has Been Restored

Last week I received an email from a forum/blog site saying that they had received a new review about Ukraine Brides Agency and it is available for me to review and respond. This is nothing new as these notices are received frequently from forum and blog sites.

My experience with blogs and forums is that the contributors fall into one of several categories:

1. They are a genuine contributor who posts either positively or negatively, depending on their experience using a marriage or dating site

2. They are a competitive dating site who uses the blog or forum to discredit every site but his own. You can easily tell these contributors as their posts are almost identical and they discredit many sites.

3. They are a previous user of a dating site and had such a bad experience that they are totally negative to online dating and will rubbish any positive posts, often engaging the positive contributor to a long series of nasty vitriol

This is a sad situation because men and ladies who genuinely want to research the dating industry or dating sites through forums can’t determine true facts and make an informed decision. That is another subject that I will comment on in a future post.

There are many who use dating sites and don’t find love. This can be for a number of reasons, both good and bad and they will pass on their experience via forums. This is fair enough I guess, however, as a site owner, we welcome direct feedback so that we can help or put right any problems, so it can be disappointing to see a negative comment when you had no idea that the member had problems and did not take the opportunity to contact us first.

There is much damage done through blogs and forums, especially if the contributor is type 2 and 3 from above. Discrediting all other sites to promote your own site does no-one any good – it only tarnishes the entire industry. It conveys such a negative overtone that it can deter genuine people from trying online dating – everyone loses, including genuine men and ladies.

Back to my story ………….. I reviewed the comment and it was obviously a type 2: a competitor dating site criticising Ukraine Brides as well as a number of other sites.

I responded to the comment, as I nearly always do, as I believe that readers should see our response and make their own mind up whether to use our services or not. Often a contribution that has not been responded to by the site can be seen as being evasive and adding credibility to the post.

I am delighted to say that I received an email back from Traci advising that they had removed the post – they had listened to me, reviewed the contributor’s posts and had removed them!

This is the first time that a forum or blog site had shown such great service, professionalism and the responsibility to do this. My faith has been restored and I am very happy to say that it was www.SiteJabber.com
